Are you afraid of the Dark, Candy Corn Chic, and the Burroughes Haunted Mansion ticket giveaway

I had a scary thought while walking home from work the other night:

If the producers of Are You Afraid of the Dark ever, FINALLY, choose to reboot that show I’d be too old to play a member of the midnight society by now.

Sure, I could probably play one of those whacky characters within a vignette — a demonic babysitter who, or a pop star who pukes out little monsters on stage — but the closest I can hope for is a two-show arc. Maybe. I’ll never be a Gary or a Kiki or that guy who played Jason in Mean Girls…

Wait – scratch that. Wikipedia tells me that Ross Hull was about my age when he STARTED his five year run on the show so… hollah, Cinar. (Eek. Or maybe not.)

*shudder* Hearing the music still gives me the heeby jeebies, every time.

Ah, but L’alloween, she is almost here, non? And I am NEVER too old to enjoy Halloween. Some might say that my age group is the most well-suited to celebrate this holiday in a contemporary world.

We’re old enough to get into licensed parties and nightclubs, but young enough to party all night.
Old enough to have complete autonomy and nobody to report back to, yet young enough to have few major responsibilities (*cough* kids.)
Young enough to look good in a risque costume, but old enough to know when a costume is too risque to be cute — and also to afford said costumes and rolls of double sided tape.

There are a lot of parties in my book this year – some private, some professional, some quirky shindigs and some MASSIVE SUPER RAGERS.

One of the 5 I’ll be attempting to hit on Saturday is the fourth annual Burroughes Haunted Mansion party presented by my homies at Oxford Beach.

That party was a blast last year. So many great costumes and hot people. I can only expect that this year will be even

WHERE MY PULITZER IS AT?

I’ve got the first night of World Mastercard Fashion Week and the Canadian Online Publishing Awards tonight. CBCNews.ca is nominated for 10 awards this year! I imagine that if we win all 10, the very talented people responsible for said nominations might need some help carrying them back to the newsroom, and WHO BETTER AT CARRYING THINGS THAN THIS KID?!
