The Ermahgerd Translator & Dial-up Dubstep

Not to brag, but I’ve been getting some really great ideas while riding my bike home from work lately. My legs are pumping, my blood is flowing, and my brain is still all hyper-stimulated after a long day of writing / thinking / creating…

Usually, they take the form of image macros, funny songs, video concepts or jokes. One time I figured out the nature of bonding in hypervalent molecules, but then a pigeon flew into the side of my head and I came home with this on my mind instead:

Jusssst kidding. I didn’t create Nicholas Cage Voltron (I WISH!) but I did, honest to goodness think this one up. Not my finest thought, but whatever.

Speaking of Gersbermps Girl, Did you know that some guys created an ERMAGHERD translator? Now that is cute (h/t to The Daily Dot).

Anyhoo, today’s genius idea had me head-yelling “I’M GOING TO BE RICH! I’LL HAVE THE MOST POPULAR NUMBER ONE SINGLE IN THE HISTORY OF TIME! CARLY RAE GOTYE CAN KISS MAH BRILLIANT BAWLS!!!”

And then I got home and googled “Dial-up sound dubstep remix” and, well, it was the Kraft Dinner Unboxing Video all over again.

Berners-Lee-core. Already been done.

A classic case of Simpsons-did-it meets rule 21. Again. A WOO HOO HOO!

In other happenings, I hosted a live webcam chat with Canadian comedy stars at work this evening.

Now THAT is something that hasn’t been done before — at least not ’round these parts, as far as I know. We all laughed a lot, for so many reasons. You can watch the entire chat play back here if you’d like. Shush over my weird voice. I already know.

It is my goal, this weekend, to come up with a completely original and hilarious something for my blog. Maybe I’ll be inspired at the Salt N’ Pepa show tomorrow night
